Last month, the Cordelia’s Market team was fortunate enough to attend our first post-pandemic trade show, the 2022 KeHE Holiday Show!
KeHE (pronounced “Kay-Hee”), is our natural and organic food distributor, and every year they invite grocery stores from all over the country to convene in Chicago for a celebration of food, fellowship, and education. We choose to partner with them because they allow us to provide something other stores can’t always offer - genuine care and attention to the health and wellness of our community. Food shows are such a unique way for us to learn about the products that we offer directly from the people who make them. As soon as we stepped into the room, it was clear that everyone was so excited to gather again in-person to see, taste, and smell the new products that we handpick to sell in our store. It took two full days to see everything! We were SO excited to get to meet new vendors again as well as visit with the ones we’ve known for years.
We met people like John Hunter from Castor River Farms, who told us all about how they grow their rice using regenerative agriculture. He helped us understand the connection between healthy soil and healthier people.
One of our favorite things about the show was involving customers like you on our Instagram page to gauge interest in specific products. The feedback we received helped us curate a unique mix of products that are sure to be fast favorites! Like TBJ Bacon Jam, which we can not wait to add to some new hot box recipes, or Knott’s Pretzels, which we kept going back to try again and again! They are equally delicious AND addicting 😊
